September 22, 1984. High school football games from the night before saw Oakland lose to powerhouse Gallatin while Riverdale beat the heavily favored Father Ryan.
In other news, there's an interesting piece on the front page of the Daily News Journal about a Smyrna couple who were making counterfeit video game logic boards.
