September 1, 1984. It's Labor Day Weekend! The Oakland Patriots defeated Hendersonville 7-0 in the first half of the Football Jamboree. The Riverdale Warriors beat the Smyrna Bulldogs 14-0 in the 2nd half. If preseason is the litmus test, then it looks like Riverdale and Oakland are on a collision course with the annual Battle of Murfreesboro deciding the district champion.
