I'm going back through what comprised my senior year of high school and first semester of college in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Come along for the ride. New posts every day or so mixed in with other things.
October 21, 1984. The Northfield Crossing Shopping Center has a big ad in the Sunday paper for a gala celebration and grand opening planned for Saturday November 3, 1984. I don't know about y'all, but the stores in this center are a bit underwhelming. It now goes by the name Parkside Shopping Center and none of the stores in this ad are still in business there.
The shopping world was heating up in Murfreesboro with an announcement of a mall coming soon to Old Fort Parkway. I would end up working in that mall for a couple of years.
A couple of random items to end this post. First up, how about a strange "pet" lamp from Creative Lighting. It would only set you back $39.99 plus tax for the desk lamp version, but more for a floor one.
Loveless Photography took our senior photographs at Riverdale (pretty sure they did all the local schools) so if you were lucky (or maybe unlucky) you might have gotten your senior photo in the Sunday Daily News Journal Accent section like our school president Kelly Lewis did on this particular Sunday.
