August 12, 1984. City pools last day open. Oaklands Pool was the place to swim until Sports Com opened.
Break dancing has made its way to Murfreesboro! The Main Circuit Breakers get a photo on the second page of the Daily News Journal as they perform in front of Honey's Auto Parts. There's also a note in the News Journal Accent Mid-South Calendar that a break dance contest would happen on August 24th at the Agricultural Center in Old Fort Park. The wining crew would get $100.
