August 18, 1984. Toys R Us! has their grand opening near Hickory Hollow Mall. I wasn't really in the toy buying demographic any longer (despite their "I don't want to grow up" ads), but I would buy a few Nintendo cartridges from them over the years. I think that's where I bought my Nintendo system too. Look at all the greats who would be appearing on this day.
